Renato Ratti, Langhe, Nebbiolo 2011. Early drinking Nebbiolo from Langhe district. Misty, hilly district of Piedmont. Elegant cherry and raspberry fruit. A little oak.

Castello della Paneretta, Chianti Classico Reserva 2011 - a wonderful wine, purchased from Marks & Spencer. Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes from vineyards overlooking town of San Gimignano. 14.5% ABV. Deep ruby colour. Flavours of ripe cherries, mocha and wild herbs.

Chateau La Rose Vosel 2011, Lalande de Pomerol (just to the north of Pomerol). The wines of Lalande-de-Pomerol are a 'Bordeaux blend' made predominantly from Merlot, but may also contain Cabernet France, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.
